Hivemind, I'm looking for an advice for moving from #Mastodon to #LittleFedi instance.
What would you do?
- use littleFedi's built-in account migration setting
- use slurp to move posts
- something else?

@po3mah@mastodon.social Use LittleFedi's account migration. It works great !

@andyc does it migrate posts too?

@po3mah@mastodon.social I think that is technically problematic with privacy issues.

The original content was 'owned' by old account. How could it be now appear as being authored by new account ? Links and federation would break.

However, I think scripts exists to take a dump of all your old posts.

@andyc yes, I am aware of technicalities.
I could live with transfer of posts(without interaction), so I could reboost them.
That's why I mentioned slurp tool. Anyone tried it with littlefedi?

@po3mah@mastodon.social Just looked up Slurp. Looks interesting and may help here.

However, any content I created, which I am proud of and want preserving long term is in my blog and stored in a code repository.

Any and all of my endless stream of consciousness microblogging/ActivityPub drivel is, by my very definition, disposable content - 'Look I had a grapefruit for breakfast!'

@andyc Yes, I believe you, but here we differ.
I don't treat my stream disposable, ... because of reasons.
