I think #LittleFedi Bubbles might be more useful to me than relays

Manage the instances that form your "community bubble". Posts from these instances appear in the Bubble timeline

Also, my relays are all pending. Not sure if this needs manual approval...

@jack@social.baty.net @stefano@bsd.cafe ...but we love you for it. Saves me a lot of time constantly experimenting. Plus, you're on HN which is nice :-)

@jack@social.baty.net @stefano@bsd.cafe Mate. I've lost count of the times when you have gone 'all in'.

On Linux, on MacOS, on Emacs, on denote, on orgmode etc :-)

#LittleFedi supports relays but thse are currently managed from the command line (not the Admin GUI) so let's try this feature out !

ubuntu@ubuntu-fedi:~/software/littlefedi$ ./littlefedi -config littlefedi.toml admin relay add --actor https://relay.intahnet.co.uk/actor

Like the 'Settings-Wellness' option in #LittleFedi.

@jack@social.baty.net While the software is just 10 days old and another release is due next week, I agree that an issues log is required otherwise bugs, issues and enhancement requests will simply be lost.

It's possible the developers are monitoring and logging internally. We'll see but in @stefano@bsd.cafe we trust !

Find it slightly odd that the #LittleFedi export includes account, statuses, friends, followers, lists and media but not the blog content. I presume this is either an oversight or there will be a separate blog export functionality. The blog content only has the final HTML so migrating to an SSG (normally Markdown) could be interesting.

@jack@social.baty.net Yes. I got used to copying an image in the clipboard and quickly pasting it on the Mastodon Web interface. Now I have to navigate to 'Screenshots' which is more work.

Fantastic. I was wanting to make 'Markdown' the default when composing a post in #LittleFedi and this is already an option in 'Settings - Posting'. Hurrah !

@himysyed@littleone.littlefedi.social That is an excellent article and really resonates with me. In particular:

What users experience is not only software behaviour, but the consequence of how a team actually thinks and works.

This is why many “technical problems” are not technical at all, they are organisational failures surfacing late.

Thanks for the pointer.

Wanted to see what a poll looks like on #LittleFedi. If you are using LittleFedi, what client are you using ?

When I attempt to follow a friend with an account on micro.blog, LittleFedi says '[Follow] Requested' but the problem is that micro.blog does not prompt the micro.blog user to accept the Follow request as that request is never exposed to the end user.

@Bastianoso@mastodon.social @stefano@bsd.cafe How can I debug this further or is this just a #LittleFedi teething problem ? The LF journal reports 'Error - 500' when attempting to deliver to the micro.blog Inbox.

@hl@social.lol Funny because that's a standing family joke in our house. Our son once cheekily remarked 'God - you only ever hoover when someone is coming round'. We made him hoover the entire house even when no-one was coming as a punishment.

@hl@social.lol Yes. This used to also cause me immense frustration and wasted so much time that eventually I gave up and moved to #blogmore, another SSG which is very reliable with great functionality, refreshing to use and painless to update.

@jac@404brain.boo Nice one ! I think #LittleFedi is great as choice of ActivityPub platforms is always welcome.

More importantly, the ease of installation, minimal ongoing administration effort and the very low resource footprint might entice more 'non-technical' users to experiment and start hosting single user (or small-medium) instances.

Sorry that sounds really heartless. Obviously, I love my wife and my mother-in-law and it's truly heartbreaking to see two people you love suffering but I feel quite helpless.

Yes, I visited to share the load with my wife and spent time with her and the M-I-L. Maybe another face lifted her spirits.

Yes. I helped my missus by getting the home printer working and upgraded her Mum's iPhone so her battery lasts more than 30 mins but is that enough ?

Was briefly contemplating my own mortality after spending two days with my missus and mother-in-law (who fell and broke her hip) in a bleak, depressing NHS hospital.

The contemplation period is now over. Now drinking Peroni, listening to music. Live for today and all that.

@phl@mastodon.social @stefano@bsd.cafe I think your response was very thoughtful, considered and measured. I thought Italians were more of a fiery Latin temperament (lazy national stereotyping) ! :-)

I saw the original comment and just thought it was incredibly sad that an individual disregarded all the work you and the team had done to bring a software package to the world and immediately started trying to fuel bizarre, unjustified conspiracy theories.

I wonder if he could produce a README in his second language.

Keep up the excellent work and don't let the bastards grind you down !
