Never used a Quote ever until now. I see what you mean about resembling '55'. Worse, when I actually used it reminded me of the Fascist 'SS' symbol. They might want to change that to something resembling a 'Quote'.
@jack@social.baty.net
The default quote button in the #littleFedi web UI looks to me like the number "55", which distracts me ("Hey, another post got 55 boosts!") so I added some custom CSS. It's a testament to littleFedi that I haven't wanted to add any customCSS until now.

@JigsawPieces@mastodon.social Why ? My wife thinks 20'C is 'freezing'. I could probably live without any central heating all year round and put a jumper on.
I find it absolutely staggering that #LittleFedi provides pre-built binaries for a total of 136 different platforms (every flavour of BSD, Linux, Windows) on multiple architectures with different storage solutions (S3, local) for different databases (SQLite, Postgres).
That must be a complicated release process and includes Illumos, Solaris, Plan9 and AIX !
Started to capture my own minor issues with #LittleFedi in a private Codeberg repo
Hmm. The new image paste feature didn't work for me using Chrome (155.0.8059.39) on Arch Linux (7.2.9-arch1-1) using Wayland and Gnome 51 using the screenshot tool. Oh well.
@jac@404brain.boo @dick_turpin@mastodon.org.uk I think lodging feedback with PALS is useful. It's not so much to help you as nothing can undo what's been done. In fact, any acknowledgement is almost meaningless. A written 'apology' is unlikely as it could open the PCT up to a formal case of negligence. However, hopefully, it might bring issues to their attention that they can act on and try to improve things going forward.
@theru@infosec.exchange This going viral thing is quite hard. Maybe I should advertise gentleman's grooming products on Insta.
The Chameleons wonderful 'Second Skin' was originally titled 'Dreams in Celluloid' and then 'Films'.

@dick_turpin@mastodon.org.uk @jac@404brain.boo Apparently it's 12 months but we had the same issue when we lost my father-in-law in 2014. You're all so consumed by grief, funeral, probate etc, it hardly seems that important.
I don't feel so lonely on my #LittleFedi single user instance as I have these streams available:
- Bubbles - my UK/tech focused stream.
- Federated - public posts received from peer servers and accounts known to my instance.
- Local - my own handy, private, searchable archive of all my posts.
Turned the central heating on after being off for 6 months. Nothing worked. Knew the wife would notice on her return. Thought the boiler was broken until I remembered I had manually turned all the radiators off during the endless summer heatwaves. Phew.
@dick_turpin@mastodon.org.uk @jac@404brain.boo My wife helpfully told me that lodging feedback (not necessarily a complaint) with the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) was always the best way to provide feedback and get a formal response.
I assumed it would take months and they'd endlessly stall. However, I tried it once chasing the results of a CT scan that were promised and never appeared despite multiple, polite phone calls and emails.
Within minutes of me submitting the online PALS form, the radiology department called me directly, sincerely apologising, sent me an email with the consultant's report and sent me CD of the imagery in the post. They then checked I was happy with the outcome - no doubt petrified I was going to escalate to a higher level.
@dick_turpin@mastodon.org.uk @jac@404brain.boo Similar story. My wife was on a trolley in a corridor (admittedly a cramped, difficult environment) but when the nurse (or HA ?) came to take blood, she placed the tray on the floor. My wife (former ICU, district and practice nurse) was not impressed.
@jac@404brain.boo Just having a moment here . My daughter is also 34 years old. So desperately sad.

@jac@404brain.boo Before I forget:-
- PlanetEmacs provides a curated RSS feed of decent #Emacs related blogs.
- The excellent 'elfeed' package is an RSS reader for Emacs. (I think you mentioned this as a nice to have).
@jac@404brain.boo ...although almost as a contradiction, I can be incredibly tenacious and persistent going down a rabbit hole to resolve or investigate a particularly thorny or challenging technical problem. Sometimes, it was required as part of my job, sometimes it's just something a fun side project that interested me.
@jac@404brain.boo @dick_turpin@mastodon.org.uk After my recent experiences with my wife and mother-in-law at different hospitals, I noticed that staff are very task oriented and narrow in focus (almost tunnel vision). No-one seems to be overseeing, marshalling and organised with a cohesive view of the big picture. Plus, the doctors and consultants are still the kings and queens and everyone defers to them. I swear some staff curtsy when the morning doctor's round get underway.
@andyc @jac@404brain.boo Whenever I recount this story, my wife just grunts and says 'Accurate apart from the Starter element' (as she waits for that dripping tap to be fixed).
