@andyc @lohang@micro.alochana.net This is often followed 10 mins later by another context-less quote. For example:
'I see she was baking cakes yesterday at a homeless charity in London'
And, of course, now she's referring to Catherine, Princess of Wales (not Janet).
@lohang@micro.alochana.net Agreed. I could just simply post some of my wife's quotes. She sits on her laptop and phone and blurts out completely context-less words. Obviously, it makes sense to her and it irritates her that I don't immediately grok WTF she is referring to. For example,
'Janet said the man hasn't been yet despite her calling twice...'
I loved Michael Carrick's cutting response to Bruno Fernandes. Ironically, Fernandes fucks any plan to press high or hold in a block as he constantly runs around like a headless chicken, moaning at team mates, waving his hands around.
'Whatever tactics you play, if you don't run, and you don't run forward, and you don't run back, you aren't going to win'.
@luke@social.sdfeu.org The problems are long standing and way above Carrick's head. I feel almost sorry for him. The club is broken from the Glazers down, Wilcox (who ?), Berrada (City cheat) and INEOS (Ratcliffe) who have somehow contrived to make things worse.
However, I suspect that, inevitably, Carrick will now be dismissed as the players have downed tools and the senior players are brazenly and publicly broadcasting it. You could appoint Pep/Klopp and I suspect they would struggle with this limited squad. Conte wouldn't work with this lot. We'll probably get Eddie Howe. Rinse and repeat.
Another season written off before bonfire night. Thank God I was around for the glory years !
@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe 100% agreed. Also, please could you could kindly send me the winning numbers for the EuroMillions lottery on Saturday :-)
Time for a #LittleFedi update after 17 days:
- Updated LF to v26.10.13
- 192 posts
- 52 followers
- 162 following
- 19,613 stored posts
- 1,272 known domains
- SQLite database size 68MB
- 1,499 deliveries succeeded (51 failed)
- 17,311 inbox activities processed (297 failures)
I mean a private key of '4' is surely much worse than a password of 'password'. What punishment will these clowns receive?
@Gina@fosstodon.org @_elena@mastodon.social
I have never attended #fosdem as it's not really my thing but this DEIB decision has irritated me so much, I might attend 2027 wearing a dress (Kurt Cobain style)
Good luck with the ongoing fight!
Andy (whose daughter works in IT and has previously been asked to 'take the minutes').
While all the PHP powered blogs are down, please feel free to visit my blog (powered by a static site generator).
@andyc @justine@snac.smithies.me.uk More things I like:
- Writing posts in Markdown.
- Bubbles. I created a UK focused timeline.
- Upgrades. Simply download and drop in the new Go executable. Done.
- Tailing the LF log file.
My wife's 20 year old blueyonder email address is being retired (outsourced to a paid service) so commenced the transition to Gmail account. Thunderbird and IMAP made this relatively easy (although she is already confused about distinguishing the two Inboxes).
@justine@snac.smithies.me.uk Yes. I'm all in on #LittleFedi. Turns out I really enjoy managing my own self hosted, single user instance. I deleted my previous Mastodon presences. Couple of minor irritations but no deal breakers
- Tusky on Android is unreliable so I use the excellent Web UI which includes the Admin screens.
- I can't follow folk on micro.blog, tags.pub or bsd.network. I suspect this is API incompatibility but that may improve.
The performance and low resource requirements are already covered but the LF documentation is comprehensive and excellent.
Plus we've already had one patch release so far!
@dick_turpin@mastodon.org.uk Seems to be a Burnham trait. We're going to fix everything including minor irritations. Not sharing any details though. Oh no.
Wife on phone to her sister. 47 mins and counting.
'Oh sorry. I've got to go. Emma has been in a crash'.
Next morning. 'Is Emma OK?'
'Oh yes. There was a crash on the M1 and the traffic jam delayed her journey home'.
Drama queens.
@luca@sironi.xyz @stefano@bsd.cafe Same setup here. Works like a dream. Given it's only 1 core, 1Gb, it's very impressive!
@jonbeckett@mastodon.online Love this blog profile!
The life and times of a work-from-home software and web developer as he fights a house, four women, two cats, idiocy, apathy and procrastination on an almost daily basis.
@feoh@fediverse.feoh.org @stefano@bsd.cafe I'm curious to try this. Can I simply plugin your LF binary and preserver my existing setup or does it use a different database structure?
